Why choose a GP Obstetrician?
GP obstetricians can manage all stages of pregnancy, from antenatal care to delivering your baby (by vaginal birth or caesarean section) and caring for both you and your new baby after delivery. Being GPs they can of course manage any non-pregnancy related health problems that you may have. They can also offer feeding and nutritional advice, and are a terrific ongoing resource for both new and experienced mums.
Already have a GP?
You can see Dr Barb and Dr Danni for your antenatal visits at the Gladstone GP Superclinic. Many women choose to continue seeing them as a GP after their baby is born and find this continuity of care very comforting. However, if you already have a regular family GP you are welcome to return to them between pregnancies. We will ensure your GP is kept updated about the outcome of your pregnancy.
Do you have a personal birth plan?
Dr Barb and Dr Danni can provide birthing advice and help you implement your individualised birth plan.
Our service is personalized and we are very happy to discuss any special religious or cultural concerns you might have regarding the care of you and your baby.
After hours service
Dr Barb and Dr Danni have a close working relationship with the consultant Obstetricians in Gladstone and share an afterhours on call roster with them. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement and helps to ensure your continuing safe service at all hours of the day and night.
Dr Barb and Dr Danni have individualised fee structures for their services. Please contact the Gladstone GP Superclinic reception on (07)49781999 for further information or to book an appointment.
I have heard your books are closed and you are not taking new patients?
This is not the case. However, in order to ensure we continue to deliver the highest quality care, we do have to limit the number of obstetrics patients we deliver each month. Please phone the Gladstone GP Superclinic reception on (07) 4878 1999 to find out our availability for your due date.
Why we offer an obstetric service?
Welcoming new life into the world is just one amazing part of it. Seeing that child grow up and become a special part of a family that you know so well is very satisfying. It's a unique and precious relationship that only a few GPs are privileged to have.
